Media urged for mature reporting on sensitive issues

Wah cantt - Chairman Senate Special Standing Committee on Cabinet, Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood has urged journalists to show maturity while reporting on national as well as sensitive issues.
He was addressing as chief guest at the award distribution ceremony of Tehsil Union of Journalists (TUJ) held at community centre Taxila yesterday. Awards were given to different personalities for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations. He said that the media has equipped masses with awareness that is key to development for any nation.
Ex-MPA PML-N Umer Farooq, PML local leader Imran Haider Naqvi and Tehsil Municipal Officer Qamar Zeeshan also spoke on this occasion. On this occasion, best physician award was given to Dr Pamela Naz; best police officer award was given to Saleem Khattak; best educationist award was given to Shafqat Hayat; best teacher (male) award was given to Dr Mohammad Anwar; best female teacher award was given to Rizwana Ashraf; best model award was given to Romisa Malik; best photographer award was given to Adeel Munish; best lawyer award was given to Aqeel Malik; best poet award was given to Syed Shamsher Haider; best sportsman award was given to Amir Iqbal; best cartoonist award was given to Usman Ghani; best columnist award was given to Tanveer Qaiser Shahid; best Urdu reporter award was given to Qari Wali Ur Rehman; best journalist award in English media was awarded to Amjad Iqbal; best electronic media reporter award was given to Malik Usman Aziz; and best photo journalist award was given to Hafiz Waseem.
