A 28-year-old driving school instructor in Mysuru was arrested by the police on the charge of murdering a housewife in her house in Ramakrishnanagar.

The police said that the accused, Sunil alias Arjun, had allegedly befriended Rakshita, the wife of Prakash, who runs a drug store.

But, on March 11, the accused, who allegedly objected to Rakshita communicating with a politician on a social networking site, went to her house when Prakash was not there and picked up a quarrel.

During the quarrel, Sunil allegedly strangled Rakshita, the police said and stuffed the body in a large suitcase.

He allegedly carried away gold jewellery worth Rs. 17 lakh and cash worth Rs. 2.44 lakh along with the suitcase.

He allegedly took the body to his native Channapatna and burnt it with the help of his father. The Akkur police have arrested Sunil’s father Chandregowda, police said.

Meanwhile, Prakash had lodged a missing complaint with Kuvempunagar police on March 12. The police cracked the murder after learning about the burnt body found in Karigudda in Channapatna.
