A Holika Utsav programme was organised at Pantanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, yesterday on the occasion of Holi.

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, while taking part in the celebrations, said the festival of colours symbolised the feeling of brotherhood in the society. He called upon the gathering to celebrate an organic Holi and asserted that one must pledge to celebrate Holi using natural colours and work towards shedding vices, such as alcoholism.

Acharya Balkrishnan was also present at the occasion. He said Holi aimed at bringing together people from every section of the society. It was a festival that was above caste, creed and religion. He also called upon people to shun the use of chemical colours and directed them to avoid unnecessary wastage of water.

Later, the participants of the programme played Holi with flower petals at Patanjali Yogpeeth.
