Riot of colours as Chowk still drenched in Holi spirit

Allahabad: In keeping with their tradition, locals of Thatheri Bazar (Shahganj), Sadiapur (Kareli) and Naini Bazar celebrated Holi on Friday as well.
People came out in hordes to play with colours. Many people even turned up from other localities to witness the celebration.
"Holi here is so popular that no one wants to miss it," said Sunil, a resident of Thatheri bazaar.

With faces covered in a myriad of colours, every one was busy wishing everyone else. People enjoyed sweets, namkins as well as thandai. The organisers had made special arrangements to drench those who arrived in the locality especially for Holi. Although Holi is played only in a narrow lane of this locality of Chowk, locals had made arrangements for a water tanker and a specially-designed shower to drench people.
All the localities are located in busy business areas but Holi celebration is limited to the by-lanes of the locality without disturbing the adjoining areas.
