An Eritrean man been denied bail after being accused of assaulting a woman in paceville

Yemane Teklom Zerislase, 25, denied charges related to assault, stealing a handbag which contained a €300 mobile phone, and being drunk in public.

The court heard how the woman in question was in Paceville late last night, at around 2 am, when Zerislase allegedly grabbed the handbag that was hanging from her shoulder.

Prosecuting officer Nikolai Sant said that the woman resisted, and the accused attempted to lift up her skirt in order for her to drop the bag. Zerislase allegedly managed to take the bag and escaped, however was chased by two Italian men, who managed to stop him. The man was then arrested.
