Scott Collins joins TheWrap as TV editor, leading the site’s coverage of the fast-changing television industry in all of its facets. Collins is a veteran journalist who has spent the last 12 years as a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times, covering the TV business and programming as well as contributing to the popular ShowTracker blog. He is the author of the 2004 book “Crazy Like a Fox: The Inside Story of How Fox News Beat CNN.”

Meriah Doty joins TheWrap as film reporter from Yahoo, where she served as movies coverage editor in the L.A. office where she wrote about everything from the Oscars to Comic-Con. She previously worked for CNN, CNN.com, Buzz Media and ABC.com.

“Scott and Meriah have both proven themselves to be exceedingly talented, well-respected entertainment journalists,” said Sharon Waxman, TheWrap’s founder and editor-in-chief. “We are excited that they are bringing their skills to TheWrap, helping to expand our coverage of entertainment news and create the best possible reader experience.”

“I have been an admirer of TheWrap for years and I am thrilled to be joining this organization,” Collins said. “I am blown away by the growth and editorial quality that Sharon and her team have achieved and I hope to be able to help TheWrap reach even greater heights in the future.”

Both Collins and Doty will join TheWrap newsroom in April.
