TTD frowns as baba holds yagam
Tirumala: A Yagam by a spiritual guru atop Tirumala hills has created flutter as no private individual is permitted to conduct own rituals near the shrine. The vigilance staff of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) stopped the Baba from performing the Yagam. They also burnt the Yagam material and let off the organisers with a warning.
Any ritual by a private person should be conducted atop Tirumala only after seeking prior permission from the TTD.
On Tuesday, the Vigilance staff noticed Brahmarishi Barfani Dadaji and his followers conducting a Yagam near Srivari Kutir guesthouse. The Baba hails from Madhya Pradesh. His devotees told media that the Baba has been performing the Yagam at Tirumala every year for the last three years. "The Yagam is for world peace. It is a Vishnu pooja," they said adding that the Baba did nothing wrong.
The Baba's followers also told the Vigilance officials that they did know about the ban on private rituals by the TTD. About 200 laddus were used in the Yagam. The Baba has an ashram in Visakhapatnam too.
