FAISLABAD – State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday criticized Pakistani cricket team over its heart breaking performance in the Twenty 20 World Cup. The minister termed that team skipper Shahid Afridi and a few other players are ‘used cartridges’. He lamented that Umer Akmal and other players could not hit a single boundary in the last six overs. Grouping among players was evident in the limited match against New Zealand “The players engaged in politics should be banned from taking part in any national and international event”, he said while talking to the media. Abid pointed out that the players were seemed to underrate each other during the Tuesday’s match and unfortunately the performance of the batsmen was extremely disappointing. The entire nation has been praying for success of the national cricket team while sitting in front of their TV sets but the shameful outcome of the match disappointed and saddened them. The minter called for restructure of the cricket team and giving of news players a chance instead of the existing ones, saying that even failure of the new entrants would bring less embracement for the nation as to the appalling performance of the present players.
