Kanu Patel, an operator who runs transport company in Vapi GIDC has been identified as kingpin of illegal chemical waste release scam.

As police complaint has been filed against him, Kanu is on run.

On 15th of March, locals caught two tankers that were releasing dangorous chemical waste in creek area behind Mulla dying.

In primary police investigation it was found that GJ5AZ1329 number tanker was owned b Hemant Patel from Udhna while GJ15Z1177 was owned by Kanu Patel from Valsad.

Police Commissioner Shri Ashish Bhatiya handed over probe of this racket to Crime Branch. It was found that Heman patel had transferred ownership of these trucks on paper to Deviprasad Thakur and Samim Nasim Sheikh who were arrested by police.

The investigation reached Kanu Patel in Vapi who runs transport company in Vapi GIDC.
