UP: In a gruesome act Gram Pradhan in Daheliya Patti village of Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh set ablaze 35 Dalit houses of a colony. Two children Suryanshi and Mukesh 8 and 4-year-old were killed in the horrific incident.
According to the victims, Kamlesh Verma wanted Dalits of his locality to vote for him in Gram Panchayat polls. He also threatened the Dalits of setting ablaze their houses in case they vote for someone else.
“He threatened us before election of setting ablaze our houses if we don’t vote for him. He has done this out of revenge,” said a villager.
However Police said that “We are investigating the matter and will take action against the culprit”.
