Pilgrims from Manipur throng Anu Mahaprabhu at Nabadwip for Holi celebration

NABADIP (West Bengal), March 21: The western gate of Shri Shri Anu Mahaprabhu situated at Nabadwip Dam under Nadia District of West Bengal was inaugurated today with ritual ceremony.

Today’s inaugurated gate is an important entrance gate of western side and was donated by Khomdram Dhanamanjuri and Khomdram Bimola of Kwakeithel Bazaar.

In this connection the donor of this gate Khomdram Dhanamanjuri said that pilgrims faced difficulty in finding the entrance from the western side due to inconspicuous appearance of this gate.

She said the new gate is meant to make it easier for visitors, pilgrims and devotees, adding that from the job could be accomplished in time only because of the blessings of Anu Mahaprabhu.

On the other hand, as a part of 531th birth anniversary celebration of Shri Shri Gourangga Mahaprabhu at the temple of Shri Shri Anu Mahaprabhu, Nabadip organized by Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Memorial Trust, Holi Pala items are being from March 18 and will continue till March 24.

Various cultural items of Manipur such as Jagoi Raas, Wari Liba are also being showcased by artists from various places of the State.

The celebration has been bringing in devotees in the thousands and the number has been growing year by year.

To attend this function and to celebrate Holi in Anu Mahaprabhu around 10,000 people from Manipur have arrived and more are still turning in.

As compared to Holi in Manipur, the participation in Anu Mahaprabhu by the people from Manipur is much more.

Speaking to media persons, Takhellambam Irabot said that since many years back, devotees from Manipur came to participate and celebrate Holi and are still continuing to come.

The pilgrims however face acute problem of finding decent accommodations for the duration of the celebration.
