Roads new, Holikas put on platform

Allahabad: Holika organizers have been requested to put up temporary pedestals under Holikas.
Allahabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) officials said this measure could help prevent damage to newly-constructed roads.
In an appeal, Mayor Abhilasha Gupta on Monday also asked revellers not to use polythene in holikas to avoid air pollution.
AMC authorities have also appealed to citizens to save water and use dry colours as much as they can.Officials said some corrective measures could check the wastage of water to a major extent.
People at Kydganj, Allahapur, Rajapur, Fire station road and others have already set up holikas on temporary platforms of bricks.
