Neta has road blocked for Holi

Patna: Much to the woes of local residents, one of the busy arteries of Pataliputra industrial area, next to a mall, was blocked on Sunday evening and throughout Monday for a Holi Milan function hosted by a parliamentarian.
For the pre-Holi celebration outside the MP's residence, a stage was built on the main road, leaving no space for even pedestrians to walk across to the other side.Most motorists were seen taking detours grudgingly as other parallel roads are either perpetually choked due to mall traffic or are under construction.
A local resident not wishing to be identified said the work on the stage cinstruction commenced on Sunday afternoon following which the road was blocked using bamboos. People had to use other roads throughout Monday, but, no one can complain because of the influence of the parliamentarian, he rued. Aother local fumed the entire road was blocked for Holi Milan last year too, causing inconvenience to commn people for two days. The celebrations this Monday went on till late evening and many politicians attended the event.
The road, which also houses Pataliputra telephone exchange, is also used for parking vehicles by mall visitors. Patna divisional commission Anand Kishor, central range DIG Shalin and Patna DM Sanjay Kumar Agarwal did not revert to the WhatsApp messages and pictures of the venue sent to them by TOI. tnn
