Picture of 2-year-old boy trapped inside washing machine goes viral in Gulbarga, a city 131 miles west of Hyderabad in India.

The curious two year old had fallen into the top-loading washing machine after climbing up to peer in.

He quickly became trapped and despite his mother trying hard to pull him out, she couldn't release him.

She raced next door and asked her neighbours to help.

The neighbours staged a dramatic rescue after they had to rip the machine apart to free him.

Neighbours Shivaraj Andagi and Hanumant Reddy Kallebennur can be see sawing off the top of the machine with a machete before ripping open the basket inside.

The tearful toddler is stuck watching the pair as the struggled for half an hour to free him.

The toddler is said to be fine and recovering well from his ordeal.
