Minor jungle fire in Jambughoda sanctuary in Gujarat

A jungle fire today broke out in the Jambughoda wildlife sanctuary situated in Panchmahal district of central Gujarat.
Forest department team including led by the Range Forest Officer arrived the spot and the fire spread over around 3 hectare area in the jungle situated on the backside of Paniyara village was controlled to a big extent.
Some vegetation and trees have been destroyed in the fire. So far any loss of wildlife has not come to fore. The extent of damage will be accessed later.
Full of forests of teak and mahuda trees, bamboo, and other lush vegetation, Jambughoda is home to large populations of many kinds of wildlife. The leopard at the top of the food chain is the primary predator. Other large wildlife include the wild boar, nilgai (blue bull, the largest antelope in Asia), jackal, hyena, barking deer, sloth bear, and chausingha(four-horned antelope).
