College student killed in accident

S. Kamatchi Priya (18), a college student of Subbiah Street, first railway level crossing gate, Thoothukudi was killed in an accident on Saturday after a water tanker ran over her. Sources said, the victim was travelling in a two-wheeler along with her mother, Mallika (50), who suffered injuries. She has been admitted to Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital. The victim was a first year student of Arts College here.

The mother of the victim has suffered a fractured leg. Based on a complaint lodged by A. Arunraj (30) of Sundaravelpuram, relative of deceased, Thoothukudi Central police have filed a case under Sections 279, 337 and 304 (A) of IPC.
