The Chhattisgarh Congress has spoken out against the alleged harassment of relatives of AAP member and tribal rights activist Soni Sori, who was recently attacked with a chemical substance on her face. On Saturday, Sori’s brother-in-law Ajay Markam, who alleged that he had been threatened by police officers to “confess” to stage-managing the attack, met the Special DG Anti-Naxal Operations D M Awasthi with a Congress contingent. In a letter presented to the Special DG, Markam wrote that Sori’s family members were being harassed by the SIT investigating the attack on her. “We are being told to confess to these fake and baseless allegations and are being threatened with being arrested again,” Markam wrote.
