England winger Rachel Yankey has joined Notts County Ladies on an initial 66-day loan.

Yankey, who is one of England's most capped players with 129 appearances, won eight league titles, nine FA Cups and one UEFA Women's Cup in 15 years with Arsenal.

The 36-year-old agreed a new contract with the Gunners just over two months ago but has been allowed to leave following the arrival of Nigeria star Asisat Oshoala.

She joins fellow new signings Aivi Luik and Chelsea Weston at Meadow Lane and has signed in time to be available for Sunday's FA Cup clash with Durham Women.

Yankey kicked off her professional career with the Gunners as a 16-year-old in 1996 before moving to Fulham four years later.

After spells with Birmingham and New Jersey Wildcats she returned to the Gunners in 2005.

"I don't think I need to mention the quality that Rachel possesses, everyone in and around the game is more than aware of the devastating effect she can have on a game," manager Rick Passmoor told the club's website.

"Rachel is a fantastic attacking option for us to have at our disposal and I'm delighted to bring her to Meadow Lane."

Australia international midfielder Luik, 31, who can also play in defence, has joined on a two-year contract from Melbourne City, while defender Weston, 26, arrives from Birmingham City.

"Aivi has a wealth of experience, something which will only help our younger defenders," Passmoor added.

"Chelsea has great experience in the WSL, having been an ever-present in the league over the seasons."
