Amala Paul in Mammootty's Thoppil Joppan?
Amala Paul is being choosy about her roles post marriage. The Mili actress has only done a cameo role in Malayalam after her wedding in 2014. But we hear she is in talks with director Johny Anthony and team to play the female lead of Mammootty-starrer Thoppil Joppan.
The movie, scripted by Nishad Koya, will have the megastar playing a Kabbadi fan and will be shot in Kattappana.
Earlier, Andrea Jeremiah and Deepti Sati were rumoured to have been approached for the role of the female protagonist in the film. Currently, Amala seems to be the frontrunner.
The director tells us, 'We are currently negotiating her dates for the movie, which will start filming by April-May.' The actress though says, 'It's too early to say anything about it.'
Amala though confirms that she's signed Boban Samuel's Shah Jahanum Pareekuttyum, which also has Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya in the lead. Its director had earlier told us the movie will be a fun rom-com with 'Amala's character playing a lot of pranks on its male characters that actually take the plot forward.' The movie is expected to go on floors by April.
