203 plots under 20-point programme vacant: Deputy chief minister
Porvorim: In reply to a question tabled by Cumbharjua MLA Pandurang Madkaikar, deputy chief minister and revenue minister, Francis D'Souza said that 231 plots, under the 20-point programme (for the homeless), spread across the state are vacant.
Madkaikar said the 20-point programme is crucial as it is a means of affordable housing for the people of Goa who can't afford to buy land at the existent exorbitant prices.
Madkaikar had sought to know the pendency of applications received under the 20-point programme.
D'Souza said many applications are pending', but he does not have an exact number. He said that in some plots encroachments have happened.
