Six of family get life-term for killing woman in Bharuch

Surat: A court in Ankleshwar sentenced six members of a family, accused of murdering a woman in 2013, to life imprisonment.
Additional sessions judge S V Christian on Tuesday sentenced Jitendra Vasava, Ranjit Vasava, Harish Vasava, Raman Vasava, Ramila Vasava and Dhaniben Vasava to life imprisonment for setting ablaze their neighbour Lila Vasava (30) in Vadvad village of Jagadia taluka of Bharuch in 2013.The court found them all guilty of murder.
According to case details, Lila wanted to make a small bathroom in her courtyard in April 2013. However, during that time she got into a verbal spat with her neighbours (accused family).
The accused beat Lila after the verbal argument. When Lila tried to run away to save herself, the accused caught her, poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze. Lila was admitted to a private hospital with severe burn injuries where she died on April 14, 2013.
Jagadia police registered a case under IPC sections 307, 302, 314 and arrested all the accused.
