Vadodara: Crime branch on Tuesday arrested two members of the 'bichhoo' gang in connection with a recent robbery on Waghodia Road.
The accused had robbed Satish Solanki, a resident of Waghodia Road, off valuables worth Rs 12,000 at knife-point on February 23.
Atiq Malek (24) and Faizalkhan Pathan (22) were arrested from near Sarsiya pond in Yakutpura after police received a tip off regarding their whereabouts.
Upon interrogation the accused revealed the name of Azharuddin who too was involved in the robbery.
"Malek was the kingpin of the Bichhoo gang and he led most of the activity. Both Malek and Azharuddin are active members of the notorious gang, while Pathan is a new member. Azharuddin was arrested recently and is in judicial custody," said crime branch police inspector Rahul Patel.
According to the police, they used to target lone drivers on Waghodia Road and Panigate area in the night. They intercepted the victims on motorbike and would rob them at knife point.

"The duo will be handed over to the local police who will produce them before a local court on Wednesday. We have begun a probe to find out more offences against the duo," added Patel.
Police said that Malek who as earlier booked for 12 offences including robbery, extortion and rioted was also arrested with other members of the gang.
The police said Pathan was also arrested for abatement of suicide of a woman from whom he extorted money. He was earlier booked for rioting.
