JAMMU, Mar 15: Senior Congress leader from Suchetgarh, Ch Mohan Singh has strongly opposed the move of Education Department (DSE Jammu) to shift the vacancies of Suchetgarh/ R S Pura schools to other zones of Jammu.
Talking to media-persons today, the Ch Mohan Singh said that it has come to his notice that Education Department is going to shift a lot of vacancies from the schools falling under Zone R S Pura. He said that on the name of rationalization nearly 60 vacant posts of different schools of RS Pura, which also include Suchetgarh, are planned to be shifted to Jammu just for adjusting the near and dear ones of some officers.
He said that the shifting of the vacant posts from these schools is a cruel joke with the students/ children of this border area of RS Pura Sub Division. He further said that the Scheme like Rehbar-e-Taleem was launched for providing employment to the youth residing in rural areas and a number of youth were employed on the pattern of ReT on the vacant posts. But if these vacant posts are lifted from the schools, how can the youth of rural areas be benefitted.
The Congress leader also took up the issue of clubbed and co-located schools of the zone. He said that about 40 schools of Zone RS Pura were either clubbed or co-located with the nearest schools by the BJP-PDP Coalition Govt which was nothing but a conspiracy to crush the poor students who were the main beneficiaries of Govt schools. He said that some of even those schools which had good enrolment were also clubbed.
Ch Mohan Singh pointed out that the buildings of those schools which were clubbed or co-located have been abandoned and are gradually turning into shambles. He demanded that a concrete decision should be taken at the earliest regarding the usage of these building by the general public. He said that these vacated buildings should be used as community halls so that these buildings may not die due to negligence of the Govt.
He pleaded the Governor to intervene in this matter and requested him to direct the higher authorities of Education Department not to shift these vacant posts from the Zone RS Pura. He also lambasted MLAs of Suchetgarh and RS Pura for becoming a mute spectators on this issue.
