Keerthi is my lucky charm: Shanthnu

Shanthnu is a happy man these days.

Shanthnu is a happy man these days. With films like Vaaimai, Mupparimanam and another yet-to-be-titled film (directed by Padmamagan) in his kitty, the actor says he is being extremely choosy with his scripts. “Thanks to the mistakes I made in the past, now I know what kinds of films I am supposed to do,” he smiles.

Quiz him on married life, and Shanthnu is all praise for Keerthi — “She’s quite understanding and caring. I believe that she’s my lucky charm. More than anything else, we are good friends. She always encourages and motivates me, and has been supportive too. Post marriage, life has changed a lot for me. On the movie front? “I am listening to great scripts and in fact, a couple of good banners have approached me. But I am keeping them under wraps, because I want my work to do the rest of the talking,” he says.

Shanthnu has been through the rough and tumble of showbiz, indeed. “I was a happy-go-lucky guy just doing whatever came my way. Now, I am not ready to do that. Suddenly, I’m getting busy. I hope I do better work this year, so I am pinning my hopes on Vaaimai. It might just be the kind of break I am looking forward to. There are butterflies in my stomach!” he grins and signs off. Despite being a part of some talked-about projects a while ago like Aayiram Vilakku, Thangar Bachan’s Ammavin Kaipesi got him some positive reviews. Let’s hope things look up soon!
