It was a visual treat for art lovers in the city when artists Pankaj Saroj and Rahul Chaudhary put up an exhibition of their works in black and white based on the City of Nawabs. Interestingly, both the artists are not Lucknowites, yet they chose the city as the subject of their artworks.
Titled `Lucknow Land of Nawabs With Love' he exhibition was inaugurated by historian and Lucknowphile Ravi Bhatt, at a private art gallery in the city last week.

While Rahul has concentrated on the monuments of the city through miniature artworks, Pankaj's huge paintings depict the life of the ordinary people of the city. “I have tried to tell different stories about the changing nature of the city,“ says Pankaj. Rahul adds, “I feel that the city (of Lucknow) has so much diversity and history. That is why my work was based on the historical importance of the monuments here as they reflect thousands of stories related to the masses and people who built it with their sweat and blood.“
Prominent artists of the city Sharad Pandey and Shakil were present at the inauguration of the exhibition. Sarvesh Goel, Nishith Kapoor, Ravi Kapoor and Rashid were some of the art lovers who appreciated the paintings.
