India's outward FDI dropped in Feb: RBI

RBI data showed that the outward investment from India dropped when compared against the month of January 2016 as well as February 2015.

India's Outward Foreign Direct Investment (OFDI) dropped to $1.85 billion in the month of February 2016 as against $2.92 billion in the same month of last year. 

According do the data provided by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), outward investments in equity, loan and guaranteed issue stood at $471.5 million, $252.8 million and 1.12 billion in the given month as against $327.7 million, $266.16 million and $2.33 billion in the same month of last year, respectively. 

RBI said that the outward investments in the month of January 2016 stood at $1.54 billion in equity, $193 million in loan and $1.41 billion in guarantee issue in the month of January 2016, thereby registering a fall from a total of $3.14 billion to $1.85 billion in February 2016.
