Another dacoity in Rohtas

Sasaram: In yet another incident of dacoity committed in an adjoining village of Sasaram within the last 48 hours, armed criminals looted valuables from the house of an LIC agent at Mishripur village under Mufasil police station of Rohtas district on Sunday night.
However, an attempt to commit robbery in neighbouring house was foiled when the villagers started shouting and firing in the air.This is the fourth dacoity in and around the town within the last one month and in all the cases, police are still groping in the dark.
Police said eight armed criminals forcibly entered into the house of an LIC agent Raj Kumar Kushwaha and forced the family members to surrender. Finding no other option, the family obliged the criminals, who in turn looted the cash, ornaments and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees. The operation continued for about half-an-hour.
SHO Mufassil police station Dinanath said, "The same gang tried to storm into the neighbouring house but the agent showing bravery informed some villagers on their mobile phone. The villagers assembled and started firing in the air. The criminals were forced to flee," said the SHO.
Unabated crime in the district has given a sleepless night to the locals. On Saturday, the district unit of BJP took to the streets and burnt the effigy of CM Nitish Kumar against police failure to check crime.

emen attacked a police camp exclusively set up to check illegal mining at Jamuhar under Dehri-on-Sone police station, made hostage police personnel on duty and managed to escape with one illegal stone-laden vehicle seized by police. The vehicles were seized by ASP Rohtas Sushant Saroj on Sunday noon and handed over to the camp.
During the last two years, over a dozen such cases have been lodged by police where seized vehicles were freed by mafia and their musclemen. "Till date no one has been arrested," said a source.
