Mysskin’s Thupparivaalan will see Vishal Krishna play a detective

Vishal Krishna will star in Mysskin’s new film Thupparivaalan. He will play a detective.

Actor Vishal Krishna will appear as a detective in filmmaker Mysskin’s next Tamil film Thupparivaalan, it was announced on Thursday.

“Vishal will be seen as a detective. While the film will be another thriller along the lines of most Mysskin’s films, the fantasy angle is something that audiences will find unique,” said a source from the film’s unit.

The film’s shooting is expected to start later in March. The rest of the cast, including the leading lady, is yet to be finalised. Arrol Corelli, who had previously worked in Mysskin’s Pisasu, has been roped in to compose the tunes. Vishal is producing the film under his home banner Vishal Film Factory.

The actor was in news for another reason--Vishal, who is also the general secretary of Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Artistes’ Association), has extended ‘monetary support’ to a Thanjavur farmer who was allegedly beaten up by police in a case of non-repayment of loans. The actor took to Twitter to express his support.

“Balan.i don’t know u. But u r a farmer. I pledge my support to u. Monetarily. I don’t know ur loans.but accept my support.god bless (sic),” Vishal tweeted.

He, however, did not specify the quantum of his monetary support to farmer Balan.

A video purportedly showing Balan being allegedly beaten up by cops in Oratahanadu had gone viral on Friday, prompting the National Human Rights Commission to take suo motu view of the incident. It had sought a report from the state chief secretary and Director General of Police (DGP).

The video which was aired by TV channels, shows a few policemen allegedly attacking Balan and the incident had drawn sharp reactions from farmers’ bodies in the state.
