Mallesh Veershetty Ganapur, co-opted member of the Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, has asked officials to set up goshalas for cattle suffering from water and fodder scarcity.

At a meeting with officials of various departments in the zilla panchayat here, he asked officials to set up fodder banks and distribute fodder seeds to farmers.

He urged officials to review licence given to three slaughterhouses to see if they were functioning according to the guidelines.
