Tamil actress and director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, who had made her acting debut in A K Lohithadas' Chakkaramuthu, is gearing up for the pre-production of her next directorial in Tamil, which is centred on the recent Chennai floods. For the movie, the filmmaker wants to rope in the services of Jomon T John and Vineeth Sreenivasan.
The movie, she says, will be about the people's experience during the Chennai floods and its aftermath.
'The emotional turmoil that the people went through would be the focus.'
As part of putting together the crew for the team, Lakshmi says, 'I am in talks with Jomon for cranking the camera. I also want to get Vineeth involved. I have been trying to catch up with him but he's busy with the post-production of his film right now. I definitely want his opinion on the script and want him to work on it as he's a good writer.'
As an actress, Lakshmi recently got to work with the duo in Jacobinte Swargarajyam that was shot extensively in Dubai. She plays the pivotal role of Sherly, the wife of Renji Panicker's title character.
The actress says when offered the role, she took it up in a heartbeat. 'I have seen Jomon's work and always wanted to get him for my movies. Vineeth is also a promising director ' sensible and sensitive. So, I was really looking forward to the opportunity,' says the Aarohanam director.
