Kanpur:A woman allegedly set herself ablaze after her teenage son, without seeking her permission, purchased a two-wheeler after borrowing loan from a money-lender. The incident was reported from Malkapurwa area of Kanpur Dehat district. The police rushed to the spot and launched further investigations in this regard.
The woman identified as Ram Dulari,allegedly, committed suicide by setting herself afire following a quarrel with her son under the limits of Rasoolabad police station here on Wednesday morning.

She was rushed to district hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. According to additional superintendent of police Kanpur Dehat Rishi Pal Singh, the woman poured kerosene and set herself on fire allegedly after having argument with her son Lokendra on Wednesday morning.
"Neighbours told us that they heard the mother-son duo quarrelling and after some time they saw that the duo were shouting for help. People rushed to the spot and rescued her, but by then she had sustained serious burn injuries," said SHO Rasoolabad.
They alerted the Control room following which a Police team from Rasoolabad police station reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigations in this regard.
Police further said according to the family members, Ram Dulari had quarrelled with her son Lokendra, who without seeking her permission, had purchased a two-wheeler after borrowing loan from a money-lender. She later locked herself inside the house and after pouring kerosene oil set herself on fire.
Police later dispatched the body to mortuary. "The son of the woman has been quizzed. He confessed to his act wherein despite stiff resistance by his mother, he had purchased a bike after borrowing a loan from a money-lender. The body has been sent for postmortem. A case has been registered and further investigations are underway in this regard," ASP said further.
