Fifteen-year old Jhanvi Behal created quite a furore on social media by taking on JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar but was trolled by many within few hours to the extent that she was dubbed as an 'RSS agent'. And all this happened at a time when the girl is preparing for her class 10th board exams in her hometown - Ludhiana.

Unfazed by criticism, Jhanvi says her intention was not to target any individual or criticise a political ideology. "I have no hard feelings for Kanhaiya Kumar or anyone. I just wanted to say that schools or educational institutions shouldn't promote any kind of anti-national activities. Rather than making fun or criticising me, people should understand the actual feelings," Jhanvi told Mail Today.

On the issue of Kanhaiya, Jhanvi was quoted as saying "I am ready for a debate. He can call me anytime, anywhere and we can have it. Whatever Kanhaiya did was wrong. He should not have spoken against the prime minister of our country. He should have spoken about the anti-nationals instead."

A student of Class 10 at DAV Public School in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar in Ludhiana, Jhanvi has been an active member of an NGO Raksha Jyoti Foundation that was initiated by her father around 10 years ago. She joined the NGO in 2010 and is now working on a biography of Swami Vivekanand. "People do not know about our leaders and gurus. I am working on the biography of Swami Vivekanand and want everybody to know about his life," Jhanvi said.

Her father Ashwin Behal is a real estate businessman, while her mother Nandini Behal is a house wife. Ashwin said the family had no affiliation with any political party, but his daughter "is impressed by initiatives like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Make in India and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the PM ".

Her father rejected the allegations against his daughter. "How could a 15-year-old child be associated with any political party?" said Jhanvi's father when asked about her link with BJP-RSS. "Much before our PM introduced the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jhanvi had initiated and suggested it in Gujarat and Modi ji had responded back to her through a letter. She has been doing a lot for the country," he added.
