Toronto-based Buck Productions has named former CMJ Distribution executive Lou Occhicone (pictured) to the role of factual television consultant.

In the newly created position, Occhicone will be charged with boosting the prodco’s documentary and reality slate, while assisting with global distribution sales. He will work closely alongside company president Sean Buckley and head of television Jim Kiriakakis.

Occhicone most recently served as COO of Montreal-based CMJ Distribution, where he was tasked with creating factual production partnerships with assorted international television networks. Prior to this, the executive held the title of senior VP of operations at indie distributor CABLEready.

“Lou’s outstanding development track record, coupled with his international distribution sales experience and deep network relationships, will be a strong and valuable asset for Buck,” said Buckley in a statement. “We look forward to creating exemplary product together.”
