Two engineering students were killed in an accident on National Highway no 6 near Tadkulva village of Vyara taluka in Surat district on Saturday while going to Songadh on a long drive in a new car.

Surat: Two engineering students were killed in an accident on National Highway no 6 near Tadkulva village of Vyara taluka in Surat district on Saturday while going to Songadh on a long drive in a new car. Driver Sanket Kumar survived the accident with injuries.
The deceased were identified as Jignesh Ashok Patel, 21, and Sagar Babu Patel, 21. They had decided to go on a long drive after a function in the family's new car.
The car crashed into a trailer from behind near Tadkuva village.
They were residents of Vyara town and studying engineering in Bhavnagar. They had come home to participate in a house-warming ceremony at a relative's place, police said.
In another accident, on Bardoli-Mahuva highway, near Tarsadi village in Surat district, one person was killed when five vehicles crashed into each other due to dense fog on Friday. The collision involved a state transport bus, a truck, two cars and a motorcycle.
One of the cars first rammed into the state transport bus coming from opposite direction. Car driver Manish Patel, 31, died on the spot. Five others in the car suffered injuries and are undergoing treatment in a hospital at Bardoli.
A motorcycle rider had stopped his two-wheeler and went to help the accident victims when a truck knocked down his parked vehicle. A car coming from behind knocked the truck.
