Bengaluru: Arun (25) a resident of Jankiram Layout in Bengaluru was arrested by Ramamurthy Nagar police yesterday on the charge of attempt to murder a girl (19) by allegedly setting her ablaze when she reportedly refused his proposal for marrying him. The accused was already a married person.
The accused allegedly went to her house and assaulted her. He poured kerosene on her body and set her ablaze.
When she started crying, her family members and neighbours rushed to rescue her. They shifted her to a hospital.
Police arrested Arun and started investigation.
