Jungle Book themed annual day at St Lawrence

St Lawrence High School and Junior College celebrated its first independent Annual Day function for the students of grade 1, 2 and 3 at the Dadasaheb Gaikwad Sabhagruh.Over 600 students participated.

Nashik: St Lawrence High School and Junior College celebrated its first independent Annual Day function for the students of grade 1, 2 and 3 at the Dadasaheb Gaikwad Sabhagruh. Over 600 students participated. They presented a musical based on Rudyard Kipling's 'The Jungle Book.' The show was choreographed by Atul Narang's dance Institute. The Jungle Book was selected to help teach children the three virtue s - wisdom, courage and compassion and inculcate important life skills in them.
Mother Tongue Day at SBK: During the 'World Mother Tongue Day' celebrations at SBK English Medium School recently, the students were informed about the various languages spoken in the country, who, in turn, demonstrated their usage.

Teachers told the students that while English is a universal language and needs to be learnt, we should learn our mother tongue too and stay connected to our roots.
DPS students enact in social science activity: A unique activity based on the lesson 'devotional paths to the divine' from social science was conducted for grade 7 students. Participants dressed as famous saints, Tukaram, Namdev and Meera Bai, recited abhangas and verses written by the famous saints. The students had a gala time performing the activity.
Annual day at Silver Oak: The silver jubilee Annual Day celebration of Silver Oak Universal School took place at Dadasaheb Gaikwad Sabhagruh recently. The morning show held for pre-primary and lower primary was themed as 'Incredible India' while the evening show for upper primary and secondary sections was themed as 'Cosmos - a cultural conclave'.

More than 850 students participated in the 'Incredible India' themed function to bring out the essence of cultural diversity and rich heritage of our country. The students presented a cultural tour of the nation with folk dances, besides showcasing festivals like Holi, Diwali, Eid and Christmas. The participants also paid tributes to the Indian Army, famous cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and the Indian women's hockey team.
The evening show revolved around the theme, 'Cosmos - a cultural conclave', which saw the participation of around 750 students, who presented interesting renditions from the classic works of Shakespeare, Newton, Einstein and Walt Disney in the form of a musical ballad. The significant role of technology in trending the social culture was showcased through the renditions of technology and automobile giants like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Henry Ford. A paradigm shift in dance and music all over the world was displayed through the lives of legends like Elvis Presley, Kishore Kumar, Michael Jackson and the Sufi saints.
Ashoka talent hunt winners declared: Ashoka Junior College announced the results of Talent Hunt. Harish Uthayakumar of Ryan International, Pranav Gangurde of Ashoka Universal School, Chandsi, Aayush Nerkar of Fravashi Academy stood at third position; Atharva Jangada of Ashoka Universal School, Wadala, came in second and Tejas Tiwari of Ashoka Universal School, Wadala, won the competition. The winners were awarded a Lenovo laptop, Micromax tabs and Lenovo mobile phones.
College announces Frolic winners: The winners of the two-day extravaganza, Frolic 2016, were announced during the closing ceremony of the event held at Ashoka MBA school. The winner of 'Student Parliament' was ACBCS College (Manoj Sonwane and Shazeen), while ACBCS College (Akshay Kale) won the of Business Plan. Rasbihari organises
farewell for grade X: Class X students of Rasbihari International School witnessed a grand farewell by the hands of their juniors, class IX students, who asked the outgoing students to fill the scrap books made by them. A high tea was also organised for the students.
The school has also organised the inter-school music awards with Prabhakar Dassakar as the chief guest. The competition will conducted in eight categories - students from grade 1 to 4 and 5 to 10 will participate in the English group song and kathak. Students from grade 5 to 10 will participate in Hindi and Marathi group song, while grade 7 to 10 will participate in Hindi/Marathi solo singing. Students from grade 5 to 10 will also get the opportunity to showcase their talent in instrumental music like tabla, dholki, dholak, pakhvaj, drums, harmonium, synthesizer and guitar. Winners in each category will be awarded with a Rasbihari Music Trophy. So far, 30 schools have registered this year for the competition also 474 students participated in competition
