Noida sees few shoots because filmmakers don't know there's a film city here: Zeishan Quadri
Actor, writer and director Zeishan Quadri has known Noida better than most people in tinsel town. During his student life in Meerut, he used to frequent Noida, which is probably why he chose to shoot a significant portion of his directorial debut 'Meeruthiya Gangsters' in Noida.
Zeishan Quadri begins research for 'Gangs of Wasseypur 3'
Talking about why the film industry still does not prefer to shoot in the Film City, the Gangs Of Wasseypur writer says, 'The biggest reason why not many people from Mumbai shoot at the Film City in Noida is a lack of awareness, and that stems from a lack of publicity.
The UP government is doing so much to promote the state as a viable place for shooting, they should also look into promoting the Film City here. Of course, we would like to shoot here because it would give us access to studio settings in the northern region. But if we are not properly informed and made aware of the facilities available to us, why would we shoot here? This is why you hardly ever see shoots happening in Noida.'
