It's a sad day for fans of U.K. indie band Viola Beach, as the four band members and their manager were killed in a car accident in Sweden on Saturday, BBC News reported. Their car fell more than 82 feet from a highway into a canal near Stockholm.

They were on their way to a sold-out concert. The car reportedly crashed through a drawbridge barrier. Officials found no brake marks at the scene and estimate the car to have been travelling 43 to 50 miles per hour, according to Fox News.

The four band members were River Reeves, Kris Leonard, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin, CNN reported. The fifth man involved in the accident was their manager, Craig Tarry. Their ages ranged from 20 to 35.

The band had left a previous gig at the Swedish music festival Where Is The Music? on Friday and were on their way to The Boiler Room for their next performance.

"We are saddened and devastated as details have come to light of this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with family and friends," The Boiler Room venue said in a statement.

Viola Beach was an up-and-coming band that debuted their first single "Swings & Waterslides" on BBC Introducing last year. They were set to play in the U.S. next month.
