RAUTAHAT: A pilgrim died at Mahadev Temple in Shivanagar of Rautahat while performing a ritual on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Das (21) of Pipara, Rajawada VDC-7 in Rautahat district.

According to Inspector Santu Lal Jayasawar of Area Police Office, Garuda, Das had fainted while crawling to carry out the ritual at the Temple.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby health camp, but was pronounced dead on arrival. It was found that the deceased had been an epilepsy patient and died of the cold.

The deceased Das was in pilgrimage, where tens of thousands of pilgrims gather to offer water to Shivalinga in the temple on Shree Panchami day every year.
