‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 — Check Out (Almost) The Entire Cast In Newly Released Photos, So Where Is Jon Snow?

Game of Thrones has officially released a new set of photos from the upcoming season. While the images include shots of just about every cast member in the hit series, Jon Snow is not among them. What does this say about the fate of Kit Harington’s character?

In the photographs, which can be viewed on Collider, twenty different characters are shown in various poses and circumstances. For some of the characters, the posters reveal that not much has changed since the end of last season.

This includes Arya (Maisie Williams), who is shown sitting on the stone steps and has clearly not recovered her sight. Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke), meanwhile, appears just as lost and ruffled as ever. Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is getting over his loss while Cersei (Lena Headey) does not look happy, as per her usual self.

That being said, the posters did reveal a little bit about the fates of some of the characters. According to Entertainment Weekly, this includes Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Theon (Alfie Allen), both of whom were included in the images. As fans will recall, the two jumped from the high castle walls of Winterfell at the end of last season. Although their fates were in question, the poster confirmed that they survived the fall and are still together.

Unfortunately, a positive ending is not in store for Myrcella Baratheon (Nell Tiger Free). Myrcella was thought to have been poisoned to death last season, and the image of her corpse lying in the halls at Red Keep all but confirmed her death.

At the same time, the new posters also offered fans a first glimpse at Max von Sydow as the Three-Eyed Raven. The character is included in a shot with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who also happens to be standing on his own feet. Is this a flashback scene or something else entirely?

Sadly, the most noticeable person missing from the set of photos is Jon Snow. Of course, with Jon’s ultimate fate being the center of most of the rumors about the new season, it is understandable that producers didn’t include any shots of the character.

However, it is interesting to note that Melisandre made her way onto the photos, which does give some more credit to the ongoing theory of Jon’s resurrection. Melisandre is shown riding around what appears to be a stone wall. Is she attempting to bring back Jon from the dead?

In addition to Jon, there are a few characters that were not featured in the photographs. This includes Stannis (Stephen Dillane) and the women of House Tyrell. Stannis’ fate, like Jon’s, is still up in the air while the House Tyrell ladies are amongst fan favorites.

Along with Sydow’s appearance as the Three-Eyed Raven, Screen Crush is reporting that fans will also be introduced to a new character played by Ian McShane. The actor’s character is still unknown and he is expected to play a limited part in the season. Unfortunately, he was not included in the recent batch of photos.

Furthermore, Richard E. Grant and Essie Davis (The Babadook) are set to appear as troup players, while Melanie Liburd will be introduced as another Red Priestess. For his part, Pilou Asbæk will be reprising his role as Euron Greyjoy.

As the sixth season of Game of Thrones draws closer and closer, fans can expect more promotional material to follow. They can only hope, however, that Jon’s fate will be revealed at some point before the new season hits televisions in the spring.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones is scheduled to premiere April 24 on HBO.
