Nancy Cartwright, best known as the voice of Bart Simpson on “The Simpsons,” has launched Spotted Cow as a film/television finance and production company.

Spotted Cow’s first project is “In Search of Fellini,” which recently wrapped production in Italy. The coming-of-age drama stars Ksenia Solo, Maria Bello and Mary Lynn Rajskub.

“In Search of Fellini” was directed by Taron Lexton and written by Cartwright and Spotted Cow President Peter Kjenaas. Ambi Distribution represents worldwide rights and is presenting the project to buyers at the the Berlin Film Festival’s European Film Market.

The movie was inspired by Cartwright’s early years in the entertainment industry, when she set off to “find herself” in Italy before establishing herself in Hollywood.

Spotted Cow is also partnered with Parkside Pictures and Dark Rabbit Productions on a film with James Franco entitled “The Institute,” to be released in late 2016. Cartwright is a producer on the project. The plot and further production details are currently under wraps.

The company is positioned to participate in various levels of filmed entertainment financing. Cartwright plans to finance, produce and acquire live action and animated films, series television and digital entertainment with budgets up to $15 million.

Kjenaas and VP Monica Padro will oversee production and development of the company’s slate of projects

“We see ourselves as a new kind of company, one that is looking to create a slate of films and television projects with compelling stories for a diverse global audience,” said Cartwright. “We couldn’t be more proud of ‘In Search of Fellini.’ It’s a very special film that gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.”

Cartwright is also known for voicing Chuckie Finster in “The Rugrats” and “All Grown Up” as well as Rufus in “Kim Possible.” She also has credits on “Fame,” “Empty Nest,” “Cheers,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” “Godzilla” and the TV movie “Marian Rose White.”

Cartwright also has cameo roles in “In Search of Fellini” and “The Institute.” Kevin J. Burke, the founder of Wiseman & Burke Entertainment Business Management, is an executive producer on the films.

Kjenaas produced “The Kellys” animated series for Turner Sports as well as two one-woman stage productions starring Cartwright. In addition to co-writing the script, he is also a producer on “In Search of Fellini” and an exec producer on “The Institute.”

Padro is a veteran executive in film production and finance. She’s worked on “Wild Hogs,” “Hairspray,” “Bolt” and “The taking of Pelham 123.”
