Varalaxmi Sarathkumar makes Mollywood debut

Rumours have been doing the rounds about the heroine of Nithin Renji Panicker's upcoming Mammootty film for a while.
The director has now confirmed to us that daughter of Tamil actor Sarathkumar, Varalaxmi, will be doing the character. 'It's a role which has a lot of scope to perform. We had noticed Varalaxmi in her recent film directed by Bala and were impressed. Her role is equal to that of Mammootty and is not really a love interest,' says Nithin.
However, Nithin refuses to say anything more about the film at this point, except that it will be a Wild West kind of film, a police action drama. The director had told us in an earlier interview that Mammootty's character 'is not a super hero in the movie but a simple grassroot level cop, an ordinary person', adding that the female lead has some negative shades.
Tamil actor Sampath also has a prominent role in the film, which is still untitled. Shoot of the film is progressing in Kolar, Karnataka. This will be the Malayalam debut for Varalaxmi, while Nithin, son of actor-scriptwriter Renji Panicker, will be making his directorial debut.
