Budget suggestions flood Vadodara Municipal Corporation
VADODARA: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is receiving a steady stream of suggestions and works that the opposition wants to be included in the budget for the ensuing financial year. The general board of the civic body is expected to meet next week to discuss the budget.
The budget of Rs 3,568 crores was cleared by the standing committee. The committee had done some fine tuning of the Rs 3,560 crore budget presented by the VMC administration and cleared it after adding two flyover projects.
The Rashtriya Samaj Paksha that has four councillors in the VMC has already submitted 47 suggestions for the budget. The main opposition Congress party is yet to do so and is expected to submit a much larger number of suggestions. Sources in the VMC said that the exercise, however, remains futile as few of these suggestions are expected by the ruling party.
