According to the synopsis of the episode, "Tony Beets travels back to his roots in the Netherlands where he reveals details about his transformation from a farm boy to a Klondike mining legend. Cameras also follow him in his off-season home in the desert."

Things have been rough for Tony lately, as, first, his dredge broke down and afterwards, he lost a lot of gold. However, when Tony decided to use his old dredge, he recovered a significant amount of his lost gold.

Nevertheless, he needed a break as the entire operation had started to take a toll on his health and hopefully, he will be back to his form after the holidays.

In the previous episode titled "Golden Bombshell," after the continuation of Parker's fallout, his family gave him a surprise visit to help him out. Parker was fond of his beloved grandfather, John Schnabel, and always listened to his advice.

John had a lot of experience with gold mining and commanding a fully operational dredge. Hence, his suggestions helped Parker with his operations. His assistance resolved the significant issues that Parker had been facing since the start of the season.

Earlier, Parker processed bedrock to beat his rivals gold count. Elsewhere, Todd tried a new cut, while Monica and Kevin were left in charge of the dredge.

Hoffman was having a hard time controlling his staff. Some disagreement between his day staff and night staff occurred and they refused to work with each other. Though Hoffman tried his best to convince them, they were not in a mood to listen and it eventually affected his dredging operation.
