The trailer for new Netflix comedy Flaked - starring Irish actress Ruth Kearney and Will Arnett - has been released.

The eight-part series stars Bojack Horseman star, Will Arnett, as a struggling furniture maker who moves to the Los Angeles suburb of Venice to escape his demons and make a new life for himself.

As he battles his addictions, Arnett's character Chip makes becomes entangled in a love triangle with a beautiful waitress called London - played by Dublin actress Kearney.

The 26-year-old, who studied at St Andrew's College Dublin, got her big break in 2007 when she landed a role in ITV series Primeval.

Since then, Ruth has appeared in a variety of TV shows including Fox series The Following with Kevin Bacon.

However, her role in Flaked is set to be Kearney's most talked-about role to date.

The Netflix comedy was written by Arnett (along with Mark Chappell, a writer for The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret) and reunited the 45-year-old with Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz, who acts as the show's executive producer.

His performance as Gob Bluth on the cult comedy series is his most famous role to date but the Canadian actor and ex-husband of Amy Poehler said he found it difficult to escape the shadow of scheming, magician character.

"[Flaked] is probably a lot more in the line with the stuff that I always wanted to do," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"Ultimately, I realised that if I wanted to do this that I was going to have to create it myself."

The comedy will hit Netflix on March 11.
