VCMDWA’s Comp-Ex gets High Ratings from Exhibitors and Visitors

The much awaited Nagpur and Central India’s Computer and Mobile Expo, Comp-Ex was appreciated and highly rated by the exhibitors and visitors. The five days technology show organized by the Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealers' Welfare Association (VCMDWA) from 4th to 8th February, 2016, received an overwhelming response from the vendors, channels partners and visitors. The visit of Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and top government executives and VCMDWA’s unique initiatives like NagpurNext IT Based Project Competition and MIHAN pavilion were the major attractions in this edition of Comp-Ex exhibition.

Huge and sprawling domes with more than 100 stalls and pavilions, participating from pan India, had displayed the latest IT products, offerings and services. This year Comp-Ex laid emphasis on surveillance aiding safety and security to spread awareness of the technology and its end-benefits to the users.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis who visited the exhibition, highlighted the efforts by the state government in the field of digitization. Addressing the gathering Devendra Fadnavis announced that Nagpur would be the first Digital District in India and all the villages at gram panchayat levels would get digitally connected under the Digital India initiative.

The CM also spoke about his government’s initiative to create a service portal under the Rights to Service of the citizen enabling them to get right service at the right time and at the right cost with as less human intervention as possible. More importantly, these services will be accessible through a mobile phone which can be used to upload all application forms, documents etc.

He said that a human intervention free module is in the pipeline that will facilitate sanction of building plans etc. and would bridge the lead time of present 150 to 365 days to just less than 20 days. He also expressed his desire and vision to see India now also playing its role in the hardware side of technology after their stupendous success in world recognized software skills.

The CM also appreciated the ‘NagpurNext IT Based Project Competition’ conceptualized by VCMDWA this year for the students of various engineering colleges with a desire to bring forth Nagpur’s best IT students together to showcase their talent. The said completion aimed at promoting dialogue and co-operation, through the interaction between students and the leaders of the IT industry. Another important pavilion that attracted huge visitors was MIHAN, Nagpur.

Rajesh Narang of Sumit Electronics, channel partner of the lead sponsor Intex, said,“We have received a very good enquiry related interaction with prospect customers who have shown keen interest in the LED TVs of Intex which is being offered at a whopping discount and with a comfortable EMI scheme”.

Deepak Gidwani of H.K. Enterprises, who displayed a range of Samsung range of LFD Units, said that the response and lead base generated from the prospects was very encouraging and it was indeed worth participating in CompEx as big value products need a large data base of prospects for its targeted conversion.

INTEX was the lead sponsor of COMP-EX 2016.  Besides Intex as the lead sponsor, the Media Partners of COMP-EX 2016 were The Hitavada, Nagpur’s leading English daily, Click IT News and 93.5 Red FM, D-Link was the Networking Partner. According to the claim of VCMDWA, around 2 lakh people visited the expo.
