WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Reliance Test & Technology Company has been awarded a multi-million contract for engineering and technical services in three of the US Air Force's bases for tested cutting edge, high-tech new equipment, the Department of Defense announced.

"Reliance Test & Technology, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, has been awarded a $150.2 [million]… contract… [to] provide engineering and technical services… to support the research, development, test and evaluation of weapon systems," the statement stated on Thursday.

Work will be performed where the 96th Test Wing operates at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio and Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, and is expected to be complete by March 31, 2018, the statement added.

The 96th Test Wing is an US Air Force Materiel Command unit responsible for operational testing and evaluation of new equipment and systems.

The Wing’s current initiatives include aerial reconnaissance improvements and new armament and weapons delivery systems, according to media reports.
