Bharatiya Ithihasa Sankalana Samithi (BISS), Andhra Pradesh Chapter, is conducting a national seminar on ‘The Mahabharata – Historicity’ on February 12 and 13.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, organising committee members Prof. Salaka Raghunatha Sarma, Dr. Karri Rama Reddy and V.V. Subrahmanyam said the seminars would be conducted at Chanda Satram from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, and that several speakers from both Andhra and Telangana would attend.

Mr. Subrahmanyam said BISS had requested the speakers to focus on the historical, political and social aspects of the epic.

The topics include ‘The Mahabharata system of State and governance’, statecraft and politics, tribal life, education, geological features and rivers, mountains and forests.

Prof. Salaka said Rajamahendravaram, where Adikavi Nannaya wrote the epic, was the ideal place to organise the seminar.

D. Mohana Rao and BISS organising secretary Kompella Sastry were present.
