Surprise check by DC at Suvidha Centre

Ludhiana: Deputy commissioner Ravi Bhagat on Thursday conducted a surprise check at the premises of the Suvidha Centre in the Mini Secretariat here. During the check, he interacted with people who had come to get their work done, besides issuing directions to the staff that no person should feel harassed. He said all officials working in government offices should understand that helping people is their foremost duty."You should remain polite and always carry out your work in a stipulated time-frame," he told the officials, besides warning them not to allow agents to operate in their area. He inquired from the applicants whether their work was done in a fixed time-frame, and whether they faced any problem, to which almost all the applicants assured him that they did not face any problem. He also ordered the staff to maintain cleanliness in the premises, have proper seating arrangements, and set up a help desk to direct people at the right counters.
