Ludhiana: Despite not being well off, Rani, a class IV employee in the MC, has the courage to spend around Rs 10,000 to feed stray dogs, an act which also earns her the ire of neighbours less sympathetic to the canines.
Rani Machan, 45, has given shelter to 10 stray dogs at her Ghumar Mandi residence. She also feeds them in other parts of the city, including Ghumar Mandi, Bhai Bala Chowk and the area near Government College for Boys.
Considering the fact that her husband is a sewerman and they have two children to care for, son Honey and daughter Minakshi, this is an exemplary act of kindness.
While some don't like the family sheltering dogs, others have joined hands with them to provide food and financial help.
